BRICS sounds the alarm: Goldman Sachs sees US dollar facing weak year!

The US dollar is tumbling! Goldman Sachs analyst Kamakshya Trivedi doesn't give the dollar a rosy outlook, while BRICS wants to challenge the green banknote's power as a world reserve. The poor performance of the US dollar, which is at the bottom of the Forex market, is underpinned by the DXY index, which fell below the 100 mark, specifically to 98.06, after starting the new year at 109.40. The dollar has fallen a whopping 9% so far, and eight out of nine leading currencies will beat it in 2025.

Trivedi is unequivocal: "The weakness of the US dollar remains. It will get worse." And as BRICS countries diversify, exchange rate pressures are enormous. However, despite this turmoil, Trivedi does not see the BRICS currencies as a serious threat to the dollar, but rather relies on the euro and yen. Like him reported at watcher.guru, these traditional safe havens could further drag down the dollar, especially if America's jobs data tanks.
