German universities strengthen international contacts for better education!
International cooperation is becoming increasingly important in the education sector. This trend is particularly clear in Austria, as the current commitment of universities shows. German universities are intensifying their international university cooperation and are focusing on expanding study offerings, faculties and universities abroad. This focus on transnational education (TNB) is part of the universities' progressive internationalization strategies.
The German University Rectors' Conference (HRK) adopted a code in 2013 that sets the quality standards for German university projects abroad. This code sets minimum qualitative requirements at both academic and ethical levels. Both German universities and their foreign partners are obliged to comply with this code in order to ensure the quality of the courses offered.
Quality in international higher education
Voluntary adherence to this code is a crucial step for universities to position themselves as quality-conscious and interculturally sensitive partners in global educational competition. This shows that universities are prepared to take responsibility and adhere to the agreed standards.
Further information about the activities of the universities and the corresponding initiatives can be found on the website ORF Carinthia and International university cooperation. These sources offer a comprehensive overview of developments within the university landscape, which is increasingly relying on international cooperation.
In this context, transnational education is seen not only as a means of increasing competitiveness, but also as a strategic approach to offer students a quality education. Universities are aware of the challenges that come with internationalization and are doing everything they can to successfully overcome them.
