According to a report from www.nzz.ch, there is a lot of criticism of German Economics Minister Robert Habeck. His energy policy endangers the business location and leads to billions in lost value creation. However, his defenders argue that he is only promoting the climate-friendly restructuring of the industry. New figures from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) appear to support Habeck's course, as Germany is expected to become the world's third largest economy. But upon closer inspection, these numbers do not show the success of Habeck's policies. In fact, just recently the growth forecast for Germany was revised downwards and Germany is benefiting from a Japanese failure. Habeck's industrial strategy, on the other hand, raises more questions than it...

Energy policy endangers business location: criticism of Habeck's strategy

Habeck's industrial strategy, on the other hand, raises more questions than it answers. In particular, the so-called bridge electricity price, which is intended to relieve the burden on energy-intensive companies, has met with criticism. The costs of this state subsidy experiment are estimated to be in the high double-digit billions. However, this will not lead to energy prices falling to the level of other industrialized nations. It is therefore not surprising that neither the Federal Finance Minister nor the Chancellor support Habeck's plans. At the same time, Habeck refuses to relieve companies of taxes and duties, even though Germany already occupies a leading position among the industrialized nations. This means that more and more companies are relocating their production abroad. In summary, Habeck presents a half-baked solution to a problem of his own creation and has no plans to solve a problem that already exists. It remains to be seen whether Habeck will actually become the economic miracle minister or whether there are grounds for doubt.
