A Groundbreaking Summit for Women's Health! BILD's first women's health summit took place on November 19th, where around 140 experts came together to discuss the pressing problems and complaints of the female population. An alarming result was presented by Professor Andrea Rumler: untreated menopausal symptoms cost the German economy an incredible 9.4 billion euros every year! This number is based on the “MenoSupport” study, which also shows that 40 million sick days every year can be attributed to these complaints.

In her opening speech, Federal Minister for Family Affairs Lisa Paus spoke about the disadvantage faced by women in professional life, which is exacerbated both by childcare and menopausal symptoms. “We need a lot more research in the area of women’s health,” she urged. The summit also highlighted other important topics such as endometriosis and genetic breast cancer, which were discussed by renowned experts such as Prof. Sylvia Mechsner and Prof. Marion Kiechle.
