Hanover boosts entrepreneurial spirit: start-up ecosystem is booming!

The current issue of the research magazine of Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) highlights the important transition from science to business and offers comprehensive information to support founders. Under the title "How to start a business? Research, funding and role models", the magazine provides information about the necessary steps from the idea to the founding of a start-up. It is available in print and online and can be used either as a download or via an app on mobile devices.

The issue is published twice a year and has the core goal of supporting students and graduates in their start-up projects. The LUH has established a diverse start-up ecosystem in collaboration with economic development and other regional actors. The offers include, among other things, start-up workshops, the use of rooms, laboratories and networks as well as access to the ONE Tech Campus in Garbsen.

Extensive support for founders

An essential part of the funding is also the provision of information about EXIST start-up scholarships, which offer financial support for students, graduates and scientists from universities and non-university research institutions. These scholarships are designed to support the creation of a business plan and preparation for starting a business over a period of 12 months.

When applying for an EXIST start-up grant, it is crucial that the business idea is innovative, technology-oriented or knowledge-based. It should reflect significant unique selling points and good prospects of success, although services can also be promoted under these conditions. The application is submitted via the respective university or research institution.

Integration of start-up skills into training

Another important aspect is the integration of start-up skills into the curricula of the LUH degree programs. This ensures that students are prepared for entrepreneurial activities from the start of their academic careers. The accompanying start-up research at the university examines the framework conditions for start-ups and also offers direct support for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Reporting on these topics and providing information about support options is a central component of the LUH, which significantly promotes the start-up potential of its students and graduates. Anyone interested can find current downloads, manuals and guidelines for the EXIST start-up grant on the official website exist.de see.

The new issue of the research magazine can either be downloaded digitally or printed copies can be requested by email. In this way, a broad target group is captured and motivated to take the steps to start a company and exploit their own potential.
