Investor Summit in Bahrain: Opportunities for USD 6 Trillion Growth!

The third edition of Gateway Gulf, a prestigious event for global investors and business leaders, is just around the corner. It will take place from November 2nd to 3rd, 2025 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Bahrain Bay, in Manama. Under the theme “Rethinking Global Investment for New Trade Dynamics,” the event will attract 200 senior executives, international investors, policymakers, government officials and industry visionaries. Gateway Gulf is organized by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) with the support of senior government officials.

With the aim of promoting dialogue, establishing long-term partnerships and highlighting investment opportunities in the Gulf region, this event is a strategic platform for discussions on forward-looking topics. Bahrain has established itself as a key player for investment in the region in recent years, which is also reflected in its strong economic performance.

Economic stimulus and growth opportunities

The Gulf region's gross domestic product (GDP) is currently over $2 trillion and is expected to grow to $6 trillion by 2050. It is noteworthy that Bahrain's non-oil sector already contributes over 86% of GDP, highlighting the diversification of the economy. Looking back at the last edition of Gateway Gulf in 2024, it announced investments and strategic agreements worth over $12 billion, comprising 32 major announcements and attracting 250 ministers and business leaders from around the world.

Topics at the upcoming Gateway Gulf cover a wide range, including digital transformation, energy transition, sustainability, as well as opportunities in financial services, information and communications technology (ICT), manufacturing, logistics and tourism. These areas are critical to strengthening Bahrain's position as a global partner and increasing access to one of the fastest growing regions in the world.

Digital transformation as a core concern

In the context of digital transformation, Bahrain has implemented a comprehensive strategy consisting of 49 initiatives aimed at promoting a sustainable and inclusive digital landscape. The National Digital Economy Strategy aims to accelerate digital transformation, modernize government offerings and position Bahrain as a competitive global digital hub. This initiative is being developed in collaboration with over 20 public and semi-public institutions and covers a variety of areas such as infrastructure, talent development and emerging technologies.

Bahrain demonstrates that it is committed to a business-friendly environment that attracts foreign investment and talent with its robust regulatory structure in the digital sector, including data protection and FinTech policies. According to the ICT Development Index (IDI), Bahrain is ranked 7th globally and 3rd regionally in 2023. These achievements have resulted in Bahrain being ranked 4th in the Arab Digital Economy Report and 40th globally in the Heritage Economic Freedom Index. When it comes to FinTech, Bahrain leads the region and is ranked 25th in IMD's World Competitiveness Ranking.

Gateway Gulf is therefore not only a platform for investment, but also a catalyst for change and progress in the country's rapidly developing digital economy. With these initiatives, Bahrain aims to become a regional leader in the digital economy and respond to trends in areas such as e-commerce and artificial intelligence.

With Gateway Gulf 2025, Bahrain will further consolidate its role as an attractive location for investments and promote international dialogue on the challenges and opportunities in global economic activity. The event brings together major players and provides an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas about the latest trends and developments.
