Investor lunch in Pforzheim: Networking for a golden future!
The first “Pforzheim Investor Lunch” took place on Wednesday, April 4th. The aim of this event was to promote exchange and networking among Pforzheim companies and to make the topics “Investments in the Gold City” and “Economic Future of the Location” visible. Mayor Peter Boch emphasized the importance of networking between investors and the public sector, regardless of company size or investment amount. Boch announced that it would present best practice examples to show successful investments in Pforzheim.
Oliver Reitz, Managing Director of the WSP, emphasized the importance of regular exchanges and referred to discussions at Expo Real and bilateral contacts. Despite the difficult economic situation in Germany, Reitz is optimistic about Pforzheim's future. In the coming years, planned investments in Pforzheim amounting to at least two billion euros are planned, distributed between the private sector and the public sector. However, it was clarified that internal investments, such as for machinery or software, are not included in this estimate.

Ongoing forward-looking projects include the reopening of the Käfersteige group in Würmtal, the new Witzenmann location in Buschbusch, a new cutting center from Haecker-Metall and a new logistics center from Prologis in Altgefäll. The planned urban investments include the island school campus, a new social town hall in the SinnLeffers building, an IT campus on the Alfons Kern area, the area of the former Emma Jaeger pool, a new fire station in the east of Pforzheim and a new panoramic pool on the Wartberg.
Pforzheim also has an improved budget situation with an expected increase of over 100 million euros by 2028, as reported by bnn.de shows. The increasing number of inhabitants leads to an increased entitlement to financial resources from the municipal financial equalization in Baden-Württemberg, which has a positive impact on the city's financial development. Mayor Peter Boch and Finance Mayor Dirk Büscher are optimistic about these developments, but warn against excessive expectations, as high deficits in the profit budget are expected to continue in the coming years.
