Kulmbach: Companies are more optimistic despite challenges!

The economy in the Kulmbach district is showing signs of a slight recovery, despite ongoing challenges caused by global political uncertainties. According to a current survey by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) for Upper Franconia Bayreuth, companies overall are more skeptical about the current business situation than before. However, the IHK economic climate index remains almost constant at 102 points. This makes it clear that many companies in Kulmbach have more optimistic expectations for the future, while the current assessment of the business situation has weakened Frankenpost.

Almost half of the Kulmbach companies report a decline in domestic order volume, with 49% being negatively affected. These economic challenges also impact employment, with only 14% of respondents expecting an increase in the workforce. Around 23% fear a decrease in the number of employees. According to Harry Weiß, the IHK Vice President, the global political uncertainties are a burdensome factor for the Kulmbach economy and require business-friendly political decisions.

Outlook for the coming months

Although the current business situation is assessed as rather poor, those surveyed are more optimistic about the next twelve months. 29% of companies expect the situation to improve, while only 16% expect it to get worse.
