Attention, the global economy is boiling! A real drama in international trade relations is looming because US President Donald Trump has heated up global tempers with his new punitive tariffs. The whole chaos started with a fat 10% tariff on almost all trading partners in order - according to his administration - to make American trade fair. But this step has been thrown like a huge chunk into the flow of international trade, and the waves are raging!
Particularly explosive: China is calling on its BRICS friends to join forces in order to counter the American tariff hammer. The spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in India, Yu Jing, appealed to Nehru country to ally with the middle country. “In the face of US abuse of tariffs, the two major developing countries should stand together,” Yu said, according to one Reuters report.
Contrary to this, India has peacefully waved it off! It refrains from retaliatory measures and seeks the diplomatic route to a trade deal with the USA. China is completely different – they want to “fight to the end” with an iron fist. And as Trump threatens another hefty 50% tariff, Chinese calls are growing louder to view the whole thing not as a trade negotiation but as a shameless attempt at blackmail. What a drama!
