Christian Freiherr von Stetten (CDU/CSU) was elected as the new chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy on May 21, 2025. The election took place in a constituent meeting chaired by Bundestag President Julia Klöckner. Of the 42 votes cast, 41 were yes, one was no, and there were no abstentions. About Christian Baron von Stetten
Christian Alexander Freiherr von Stetten was born on July 24, 1970 in Stuttgart. He is not only an active CDU politician, but also a successful entrepreneur. He has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2002 and represents the Schwäbisch Hall-Hohenlohe constituency. Von Stetten has had an impressive career, which began with his high school diploma at the business high school in Öhringen, followed by studying business administration at the University of Mannheim and the Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences.
Before he went into politics, he founded Stetten Bau und Technologie Holding and was chairman of the board of Schloss Stetten Holding from 2001. Commitments within the CDU, both in the Junge Union Hohenlohe and at state and federal levels, shaped his career.
