New head of economics appointed for Korneuburg-Stockerau Hospital!

Bernhard Glatt has been appointed as the new department head for economics and purchasing at the Korneuburg-Stockerau State Hospital. This appointment is a decisive step for the economic supply of the clinic. Glatt will assume responsibility for the efficient provision of both medical and non-medical supplies, a comprehensive remit that gives him the opportunity to contribute his expertise.

He succeeds Astrid Winkler, who has changed careers. Glatt sees the merger of the Korneuburg-Stockerau and Hollabrunn state clinics as an exciting challenge. This is part of the Lower Austrian Health Plan 2040+ and envisages the creation of a new Weinviertel Süd-West State Hospital. In this context, the commercial director Anton Hörth emphasized the need for strategic decisions in order to ensure that the three Weinviertel clinic locations grow together successfully.

Responsibility and scope of duties

In his new position, Glatt will manage and organize all economic areas, including purchasing, investments, cleaning, laundry, materials management, medicine depot and kitchens. His goal is to create an appreciative working environment for employees in order to enable continuous improvement of processes. This ranges from needs-based care to the economic optimization of the various areas within the clinic.

Personal background

Bernhard Glatt brings with him extensive experience that he gained in the pharmaceutical industry and as a functional and hospital planner at the VAMED Group. At VAMED he was involved in important projects, such as operational organizational planning for the University Hospital Wiener Neustadt and the commissioning of the new building at the University Hospital St. Pölten. He also worked in the area of ​​organizational development at the Brothers of Mercy in Linz until March 2023.

His academic background includes a master's degree in “Management of Health Institutions” at IMC Krems, which underlines his suitability for the challenges in the healthcare industry. This combination of training and professional experience makes him a valuable resource for the Korneuburg-Stockerau State Hospital.
