New four-star hotel in Nordhorn: wellness and enjoyment for everyone
Wolfgang Hackmann, the managing partner of Hackmann Hotels GmbH & Co. KG, recently led a group of members of the Economic and Tourism Committee (WTA) through the new hotel project in Nordhorn. The planned accommodation will offer 80 rooms with a total of 160 beds and is part of efforts to expand the region's tourism infrastructure.
The new hotel, also known as the “Inside,” is aiming for a four-star rating. Rooms are larger than industry average and 10% of accommodations are wheelchair and disability accessible. In this context, Mayor Thomas Berling emphasized the importance of the project for Nordhorn and thanked Hackmann for his insights into the project.
Wellness area and gastronomy
A special highlight of the hotel will be the wellness area in the attic. Here future guests can enjoy a view of the train station area and the NINO building while relaxing between three saunas and a spacious relaxation area. The wellness area will be open not only to hotel guests but also to the public and will provide a comprehensive range of wellness treatments.
The hotel's gastronomic concept includes two restaurants. One of them is operated as a breakfast hotel with a focus on hotel guests, although external visitors are also welcome depending on occupancy. The second restaurant, “Marijas Restaurant”, is being relocated and leased to Nordhorn by Marija Vrdoljak from Bad Bentheim and promises to offer a culinary experience.
Sustainability and cycling friendliness
An additional feature of the hotel will be the bicycle parking facility on the ground floor. This will offer over 60 parking spaces, grab bars and charging options for e-bikes to appeal to cyclists. To underline its commitment to sustainable tourism, the hotel is aiming for certification from the ADFC for the “bed & bike” target group.
In an innovative measure, a former underground shelter on the property is used for the hotel's building services. Hackmann himself states that his children have joined the family business and already have plans to continue it in the next generation.
Hackmann Hotels, which currently operates six locations in northwest Germany, offers a family atmosphere and numerous regular guests. A balance between modern processes and traditional values is particularly important to the company. The aim is to achieve continuous growth, with the focus being on process optimization through digitalization and expanding teams. The hotels are known for their commitment to the well-being of guests and employees.
