At dusk on May 26th, a serious traffic accident occurred on Vinxeler Straße in Königswinter, in which a 47-year-old driver was seriously injured. Both vehicles involved in the accident were traveling towards Stieldorf when the incident occurred at the intersection with Peter-Weyler-Straße. The exact course of the accident is currently unclear.
The 47-year-old was immediately treated by an emergency doctor after the incident and taken to hospital. Her condition is described as seriously injured. The 30-year-old driver of the other vehicle, however, only suffered minor injuries. Evidence of possible alcohol consumption was found on his part, which could complicate the police investigation.
Investigations and consequences of the accident
The accident was recorded by officers from the Ramersdorf police station, and Vinxeler Straße was completely closed near the scene of the accident, which also had an impact on RSVG bus traffic. Both vehicles were no longer drivable after the impact and had to be towed away, which resulted in extensive property damage.
