Sporting success as a key to business: Event in Regensburg!

A pioneering event entitled “New impulses for your business” will take place on May 26, 2025. This will be held on June 3, 2025 at the state performance center of the Baseballer Guggenberg Legionnaires Regensburg, located at Donaustaufer Straße 256. The IHK Regensburg for Upper Palatinate / Kelheim launched the event to give company representatives and self-employed people an understanding of how to transfer success strategies from sport to the business world.

The speakers include Matthias Schindler, the paracycling world time trial champion, and Claus Gröbner, the general secretary of the German Ice Hockey Association. The event will also offer numerous networking opportunities and allow participants to test their racquet skills and take speed measurements in the performance center.

Sports psychology as the key to success

In the context of this event, the role of sports psychology is of central importance. The basics of sports psychology support, which are based on an action psychology framework, strive for a sustainable optimization of talent development as well as the quality of training and competition. This is achieved not only through individual training, but also through group settings and collaboration with athletes and trainers, as shown on uni-tuebingen.de described.

Another aspect of sports psychology work are the professional ethical standards of the Working Group for Sports Psychology (asp), which ensure that all measures are taken in the interests of the athletes and coaches. Long-term collaborations with sports clubs and associations are sought in order to promote the exchange between research and practice.

Application examples in competitive sports

A particularly notable example of the use of sports psychology methods can be found in top Paralympic sports, particularly table tennis by the German Disabled Sports Association. Applied sports psychology has established itself as an integral part of the “magic triangle” of sports science, psychology and sports practice. In addition, further training in sports psychology, such as in the DFB talent development program, is offered in order to pass on expert knowledge.

These measures not only optimize the athletes' performance, but also raise the general standards in sport. The mutual exchange between scientific research and practical applications, supported by long-term transfer projects, underlines the importance of sport psychology for future generations in competitive sport.

The event on June 3rd could therefore make an important contribution to how successful strategies from sport can be transferred to business and how psychological expertise creates a competitive advantage.
