Experience the economy: Speyer entrepreneurs open their doors!

The city of Speyer is preparing for a new series of events that will offer citizens an insight into important local companies. This initiative, which was launched by the Wirtschaftsfoerderung and the Speyer Adult Education Center, aims to make economic connections understandable and to promote exchange between citizens and companies. Mayor Stefanie Seiler highlights the diversity, performance and future orientation of the economy in Speyer.

The opening event of this series will take place on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 5 p.m. in the Diakonissen Foundation Hospital Speyer. The event is significant as the hospital acts as a key healthcare provider and major employer in the region. It is also an important training company in the fields of nursing and medicine. The number of participants is limited to 20 people and participation is free of charge. Registration via the Speyer Adult Education Center website is required.

Public insights into companies

The second event in the series will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at THOR GmbH at Landwehrstrasse 1. THOR GmbH operates internationally in the chemical industry and has its headquarters in Speyer. Here, 21 people have the opportunity to gain insights into the production and research processes as well as the company's global structures. Registration is also required for this event and a waiting list will be maintained if demand is high.

The Diakonissen-Stiftungs-Hospital Speyer, which emerged in 2004 from the merger of the hospital of the Evangelische Diakonissenanstalt Speyer and the foundation hospital of the city of Speyer, is an important part of Speyer's healthcare landscape. It acts as a joint healthcare hospital and offers patients and relatives access to modern medical and nursing services. In addition, the hospital continues a tradition that is characterized by its Christian character and pursues the goal of offering high-quality hospital services in the region and beyond.

These events not only provide a valuable opportunity for citizens to learn more about local businesses, but also help strengthen the community and better understand the local economy. Information and registration can be found on the Speyer Adult Education Center website: www.vhs-speyer.de.
