Bavarian Business Day in Amberg: Impulses for the Upper Palatinate!
The Bavarian Business Day will take place this year in Amberg and is organized by the Bavarian Economic Advisory Council of the Union (WBU). Loud oberpfalzecho.de is Prof. Dr. Angelika Niebler, President of the WBU, also known as the European Parliamentarian, will lead the event. This meeting has established itself as an essential point for the Upper Palatinate region, which is considered a center of creative medium-sized businesses.
The WBU was founded 77 years ago to strengthen the connection between politics and business. The founding meeting took place on June 14, 1948, initiated by the founders Georg Haindl and Dr. Joseph Müller. For almost 22 years, Haindl shaped the association, which currently has almost 2,000 members, including master craftsmen and executives from DAX companies.
The role of the WBU
The WBU has 24 specialist policy committees that develop statements on various topics. These include, among others, energy, technology, transport, finance and medium-sized businesses. These specialists help to effectively address current challenges in the economy.
A highlight of this year's Business Day is the participation of Finance Minister Albert Füracker, who has pledged his support for the event. Prof. Dr. Angelika Niebler describes the openness in the WBU as crucial for internal discussions and the exchange of ideas. Since taking office as president in November 2018, Niebler has placed greater emphasis on the importance of open dialogue.
Prof. Dr. Angelika Niebler: Simply versatile
Niebler, who has served in the European Parliament since 1999, has distinguished herself on various political committees, particularly the Parliamentary Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. Her professional roots lie in legal practice with a focus on commercial law, where she worked at well-known law firms such as Hogan Lovells and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She is also active as deputy party leader of the CSU and is involved in numerous honorary positions, including on the board of trustees of the Technical University of Munich and the Ifo Institute.
The history of the WBU, the leadership styles of its presidents and the association's role in today's economy are multifaceted. Niebler follows Dr. Otto Wiesheu, who served as President between 2009 and 2018, contributes to a long legacy of leadership and industry experience that dates back to the early days of the association under Dr. Georg Haindl goes back.
