FDP sends clear signals: declaration of war to the SPD and the Greens!
The FDP has announced that it will increase the pressure on the traffic light coalition and propose a massive reform of citizens' money. According to a draft of a 12-point program, those who refuse to work should be punished with a 30 percent reduction in benefits if they do not fulfill their obligation to cooperate. The FDP is also calling for a three-year freeze on social benefits and for price developments to be taken into account when calculating citizens' benefits, which amounts to a zero round for 2025.
Furthermore, the FDP plans to abolish the pension at 63 due to the shortage of skilled workers and to abolish the employer contribution to unemployment insurance after reaching the standard working limit. The party also advocates the adoption of renewable energies on the market and calls for the abolition of the EEG levy. In addition, the German supply chain law should be suspended in order to prevent disproportionate burdens on the economy.
The draft resolution with the FDP's demands is to be discussed at the upcoming party conference. This party conference is of great importance because important elections are coming up and the FDP is seen in surveys nationwide at just above or below 5 percent. The party is therefore trying to sharpen its profile and distance itself from the politics of the SPD and the Greens. Other demands include an “annual bureaucracy reduction law” to combat bureaucracy and reduce construction costs.
