Friedrich Merz, the German Chancellor, recently made headlines with his visit to US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office. He called for more dialogue and understanding of the complexity of political situations. Merz is convinced that Trump has no plans to withdraw from NATO, which he considers important for transatlantic relations. The importance of German exports to the USA, especially for the automotive industry, was also discussed.
