The political landscape in Zollikon will soon be characterized by a change at the top of the municipal council. Today Patrick Dümmler was nominated by the FDP as a candidate for the municipal council in 2026. Dümmler is to succeed Sascha Ullmann (GLP), who is no longer running for election after twelve years on the local council and eight years as president country messenger reported.

Goals of the FDP and the electoral context
The FDP has set itself the goal of regaining the municipal council after losing it to the GLP in 2018. In the last election, the FDP candidate Urs Fellmann was defeated by the GLP candidate Sascha Ullmann by 1,590 to 980 votes. Dümmler is the first candidate that the FDP is sending into the race for the presidency. Other parties have not yet announced any official candidacies.
The next legislative period will be characterized by competitive elections in all five authorities. A total of 41 candidates are running for 29 offices in the renewal elections for local authorities in Zollikon for the term of office 2022-2026, reports Zollikon community. Sascha Ullmann was confirmed in office in the last elections, while the newly elected local council includes Patrick Dümmler, Dorian Selz (GLP) and Sandra Fischer (Forum 5W).
