Protests against Habeck: Minister remains calm about citizen dialogue

Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck recently stood in front of an audience in Kassel that was accompanied by demonstrating groups. Despite the protests, Habeck remained calm and expressed that he believes these groups are demonstrating against everything and everyone. The demonstrators had posters against Habeck and the politics of the traffic light coalition, but tried not to disrupt the dialogue.

Before this stopover in Kassel, Habeck visited various business locations in Hesse and called for the pharmaceutical industry in Germany to be strengthened. He emphasized the importance of not having vital products produced exclusively abroad. Habeck spoke out in favor of financial support for German companies in order to promote production in their own country.

During the conversation with citizens in Kassel, Habeck mentioned the need for investments and innovations in Germany. However, he made it clear that these steps would incur costs. For this reason, he spoke out in favor of easing the debt brake, potentially signaling a rapprochement with the FDP, a coalition partner. Overall, Habeck remained calm despite the protests and concentrated on discussing citizens' concerns.
