Black-Green: 106 billion euros in new debt in five years
The FPÖ finance and budget spokesperson NAbg. Hubert Fuchs criticized the ÖVP's previous finance minister, Brunner, for only handing out budget policy calming pills. In his opinion, these measures are not sufficient because the black-green government has never fulfilled the Maastricht criteria and will not do so in the current legislative period.
Fuchs emphasized that the budget situation under the ÖVP and Greens government had gotten completely out of control. Despite record revenues, the government is running its largest budget deficit ever. He emphasized that 106 billion euros in new debt had been built up under the Black-Green Party in the last five years, which corresponds to almost a third of the total debt of the Republic of Austria.
This immense debt is at the expense of Austrian taxpayers and future generations. Fuchs accused the finance minister of leaving an enormous financial burden on future generations without taking this into account. He therefore no longer described the ÖVP as a business party, but as a new debt-making party.
