Companies are taking a clear stance against right-wing extremism
Companies and associations have recently taken a clear position and emphasized that they firmly reject right-wing extremism and xenophobia. As an open economy, they rely on democratic coexistence and the social market economy within a united Europe. These fundamental values have strengthened Germany in the 75 years of the Basic Law's existence and must be reminded again and again in view of the upcoming elections this year.
Despite this commitment, it is important to note that economic policy cannot be neglected. Many citizens are attracted to extremist views because they do not trust policymakers to effectively address problems. Therefore, clear measures are needed to strengthen businesses and promote economic growth.
Firstly, it is crucial to offer companies planning security. Ad hoc decisions and unpredictable changes of direction, especially in energy policy, are problematic for companies. You need stability to be able to invest for the long term. Secondly, a reduction in bureaucracy and an acceleration of planning and approval processes is necessary in order not to slow down companies in the midst of the intensively changing economy.
Thirdly, easing the burden on companies in terms of taxes, social security contributions and energy prices is of great importance in order to improve competitiveness. This is the only way to make it attractive to carry out research and investments in Germany. More growth creates financial scope for better education, investments in digitalization and infrastructure, and enables politicians to address issues that are currently causing dissatisfaction among the population.
