The North Rhine-Westphalia Consumer Center is opening a new information point in the city library in Löhne to provide consumers with information about their rights in areas such as housing, health, finance, energy, media, the environment and leisure. It is planned to expand the offering to make contact with the main advice center in Herford easier.

The North Rhine-Westphalia Consumer Center is a registered association supported by 27 consumer-oriented associations and groups. The information point in the Löhner library is the fourth advice center in the Herford district, and there are plans for further cooperation with institutions in the district.

The advice center has noticed a great need for advice, particularly in the areas of energy supply contracts and price caps, which have recently become the main topics. There are good contacts with companies to help consumers with questions about contracts.

The cost of a personal consultation at the consumer advice center is 20 euros, although the initial consultation is free. Detailed legal advice and support during the process costs an additional 30 euros. However, there is scope for free help. There is also the option of taking advantage of energy saving advice.
