Biberach Carpenters' Guild: Securing the future through acoustic training!

The carpenters' guild recently carried out important training for employees and bosses at the company Härle Innenausbau in Ummendorf. This event dealt with the basics of room acoustics, taught by Jürgen Kneißle from the Habisreutinger Biberach company. With a clear objective, the training was designed as an opportunity to improve the quality of work and to prepare for the future for the participants.

An additional item on the program was pension provision in the trades, which Inka Ströbele from Signal Iduna-Versicherung discussed. The organizers and the head master of the guild emphasized the lively participation as positive, and there was an intensive exchange among the participants. Four PLW award winners were also honored at the event.

Successes in the practical performance competition

The awards in the practical performance competition reflect the commitment and skills of the young carpenters. The first places were awarded as follows:

  • 5. Platz: Johannes Justus aus Riedlingen (Firma Härle, Ummendorf)
  • 6. Platz: Paul Johann Schneider aus Uttenweiler (Firma Münst, Betzenweiler)
  • 7. Platz: Raphael Kneißle (Firma Hensinger, Laupheim)
  • 10. Platz: Sophia Schmid aus Gammertingen (Firma Kettnaker, Dürmentingen)

The training not only showed interest, but also highlighted the need for ongoing training in an ever-changing professional field. An associated seminar dealing with room acoustics also offers valuable information for planners and architects.

Details about room acoustics training

This seminar is aimed at users who want to measure reverberation times and plan room acoustics. A relevant focus is on the standard procedures for carrying out measurements according to the DIN EN ISO 3382-2 standard. Participants learn how to position transmitters and receivers correctly and use appropriate measuring devices.

The seminar structure includes a main part with technical content as well as a recapitulation a few weeks later, which promotes the exchange of experiences and the clarification of open questions. The main seminar will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, followed by a recapitulation discussion on July 16, 2025.

The cost of participation is 220 euros net. RAP EPL users and admins enjoy a 50% discount. The event offers practical applications of the content learned as well as the opportunity to create measurement protocols and integrate the results into the RAP planning documents.

Overall, the training not only strengthens individual qualifications, but also contributes to the further development of crafts in the region. Investing in further training is increasingly seen as essential for the future.
