Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz visited GP JOULE at the HANNOVER MESSE 2024 alongside Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre on Monday. The founders of GP JOULE, Ove Petersen and Heinrich Gärtner, demonstrated how an energy system entirely based on renewable energies functions, emphasizing the benefits for industrial companies. At their booth at the HANNOVER MESSE, Petersen and Gärtner showcased an interactive exhibit to illustrate how industries and households can be reliably, sustainably, and affordably supplied with clean and renewable energy. They also discussed with the government leaders the importance of flexible electricity consumption to achieve renewable energy expansion goals.
In order to reach expansion targets by 2040, with an installed capacity of 560 gigawatts from wind and solar power plants in Germany, there is a need to address the gap between current peak electricity demand and renewable energy generation. Petersen and Gärtner stressed the necessity for investments in electrolysis, large ce heat pumps, and e-mobility, promoting electrification of industries and flexibility in electricity consumption to support the transition to renewable energy sources effectively.
During the visit, Scholz and Støre had the opportunity to observe the cost savings for industries in electricity, heat, and hydrogen consumption via an LED wall. GP JOULE showcased how companies can benefit significantly from renewable energy generation, storage, and consumption optimization based on their current energy usage. The company is demonstrating its sustainable, affordable, and reliable energy supply solutions for industries at Stand D45 in Hall 12 at the HANNOVER MESSE until April 26, focusing on 100% renewable energy for increased sustainability, competitiveness, and efficiency.
GP JOULE operates as an integrated energy supplier involved in various aspects of the energy value chain, from generation to utilization, offering services ranging from consulting to financing, project planning, construction, and maintenance. The company produces and markets wind and solar power, green hydrogen, and heat, applying energy in the most effective areas such as electric and hydrogen mobility, households, and industries. Since 2009, GP JOULE has been shaping the future energy landscape in Europe from Germany, striving for a secure, independent, and sustainable energy supply entirely based on renewable sources.
